Hello, I’m Maria.
My journey to marketing consultancy began in an unexpected place—the ancient world.
After completing my undergraduate degree in Ancient History, I began to specialise in the transmission of messages through different media for my postgraduate studies. Specifically, how messages were transmitted and interpreted by different audiences during the reign of the Roman emperor Septimius Severus.
During my postgraduate studies, I gained hands-on experience in cultural institutions, including roles in visitor services and tours at the prestigious British Museum and Ashmolean Museum. I also gained valuable communication experience, teaching at all levels: primary school, secondary school, university, and Workers’ Education Association.
I then moved from academia to the world of business and have spent nearly a decade honing my expertise in both B2B and B2C marketing environments. It was here that I developed my interest and experience in marketing strategy, audience profiling, and positioning.
This combined academic and marketing experience has uniquely placed me to combine my two passions and help university spinouts communicate their research to different audiences.
